FCT has reached a milestone this year celebrating 20 years in the business.

FCT Surface Cleaning was originally created around a German engineered, low pressure sandblasting unit known as Fascade Cleaning Trailer – hence the name FCT began. The machine was brought to Australia as part of a machinery expo and had recently cleaned the Arch de Triumph and Big Ben.

Together with a partner, Tim Harris purchased the machine and started the business in 1994. The early days were lean and there were constant prayers that a fax would come through with a job.

The Government contract came early and the first BIG job was to clean Balga High School. This job took several weeks to another person was employed – Richard Marsh – who stayed with the company for almost 10 years.

The partnership was dissolved in 1995 and Tim went on as a sole trader.
